Christchurch's trams were among the most interesting things in this city

I finding love reflections in unexpected places. This bridge is on the road from Te Anau to Milford Sound

Bruce's Bay. Should have been called Sandfly Bay - I was eaten alive by those vicious little creatures. The spray creates a nice atmosphere to make up for them!

Early morning shoot with Glen Howey; amazing light

Sunrise feast

More gorgeous sunrise colours on the Remarkables

Rowan tree, photographed often, for a good reason. I love the colours

The famous Wanaka tree. It's so much closer to the town, and the shore of the lake, than I thought. Low water levels precluded good reflections but it remain beautiful

I tried to capture a different feel....the low perspective makes the tree dominate the distant lakeshore hills

The jetty at Glenorchy, before dawn. I love the light and the colours

Simple long exposure

Snow capped mountain, nice clouds, great light...what more does a photographer want?

For me the defining memory of New Zealand: endless roads leading to beautiful mountains

Milford Sound with a nice moody atmosphere

How do you capture the power of a waterfall?

Patterns....from the boat to the clouds

The light can be amazing when the clouds part in the late afternoon

Clear skies....something that is increasingly rare to find

small waterfall turns almost abstract with a very long exposure

Layers, layers....Doubtful Sound at its best

How often do you see a complete rainbow? In a gorgeous fjord? From a boat?

Classic view

Colours, colours...almost as good as Svalbard in winter

Nugget Point lighthouse, just after sunset

Nugget point lighthouse and Milky Way

Muraki boulders

Smallest penguins in the world; they emerge from the water in small groups after dark to evade predators and rush to safety

Sperm whale, a resident near Kaikouri
